Yes - open Sundays. Close at 4p.
I know they don't normally, not sure about during the holidays. I know Paulina meat market up the street a block does during the holidays.
It's difficult to get the dough to rise when it's cold unless you use artificial methods. I'm sure they frown on using artificial methods.
I know that they make Stollen, I don't know when they are available.
I really don't know, give them a call.

Dinkels never disappoints! The baked goods are always fabulous, as are the sandwiches. I've got to come back and try the soups though.
Wonderful as always. Still as delicious as always. Dinkels holds so many childhood memories, (1960's)and to this day they have not let me down
Great selection of fresh doughnuts every day. The butter cookies are a must try. Always have a good selection of fresh breads too. Try the sourdough!
As always the best Paczki's on Fat Tuesday. The best Chocolate donuts!A true Chicago bakery!
The best cake and cheese flakies
Love the environment, great products of all different types. This place could bring people happiness.
AMAZING sugar cookies! Staff is always so helpful, especially Alexandria! Thank you so much for my fiance's birthday sugar cookies! You rock!
Great full bakery. Excellent bread, cake, donuts.
My fave bakery, very close to Wrigley Field. Excellent cookies, danishes and cakes.
Sour cream, cake donuts are amazing at this institution. Breakfast sandwiches are particularly scrumptious as the bread is all sent from heaven (I mean baked in house fresh) daily. Coffee is fine but it's not the reason you come here anyway... I recommend the Bavarian Breakfast Sandwich and a sour cream donut for afterwards.
Great bakery. Lots of interesting creations. They don't always work, but it's fun to try new things.
We had cake donuts and a Fresh Peach Berliner and they were outstanding. Among the best pastries I've ever had. I took a star away because the tables in the seating area were dirty and employees came by a few times and didn't clean them. And other employees were standing around doing nothing. In any case, I'd definitely come here way too often if I lived nearby. Parking is difficult but there is unusual street parking right out front. You can park for 20 minutes if you leave your blinkers running.
Whenever I am in Lakeview, I have to make a stop here. They have great breakfsst sandwiches, but their cupcakes and desserts is where its at. I recently purchased a Frankfort Torte for my parents wedding anniversary. It was an awesome and delicious cake! Vanilla layered with loads of butter cream and ganache. Such an amazing treat. Service is always great and friendly here. Very accommodating when I asked for a special request for the cake. Their speciality cakes are a little pricy, but sooo worth it. Parking can be a bit tight at times, but you can leave your hazard/blinkers on in front of the store if you are going to be quick. A true Chicago Bakery classic. Check em out and support locall!
Wow I’m not a fan of cold cut sandwiches but you guys are incredible and your ingredients and care you take when making a masterpiece!
Great donuts. Cookies are pretty good. Cakes are amazing.
Incredible pretzels, donuts and sandwiches. Highly recommended.
Have been shopping here about 40 years. The Staff have been excellent over the Years. All neighborhood should have a Dunkel. Ran into Ernie Banks who used to drop by this Bakery
Dinkel's is a Chicago Landmark, with wonderful Bakery items all handmade with care!. The apple strudel was flaky and crispy, the carrot cake cupcakes we bought were moist and flavorful and the donuts were fresh and out of this world. I remember coming here as a child and the wonderful bakery items we got today brought back happy memories. Dinkel's Bakery is highly recommended! It is also very easy to park right in front of their Bakery for up to 15 minutes as long as you leave your blinkers on, that is an excellent feature.
Come early on Saturday for their incredible maple bacon cake donuts! Always delicious. And the bakers sunrise is probably the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Great options top to bottom though. I consider it a Northside staple, and I can't recommend it highly enough
This place is great. Great taste, good value
this bakery has completely ruined us from our mediocre bakeries back home. amazeballs and tremendous service from the young lady helping us.
Great donuts. Cookies are pretty good. Cakes are amazing. Thanksgiving pies were just ok. Overall great spot for the neighborhood.
Very safe social distancing and sanitary practices during my visit on June 6th. As always, top-notch quality food and coffee regardless of COVID-19 safety measures.
Good variety, nice environment and clean store. I wanted to check it out since some of my friends recommended it. Nice variety of parties, and donut selection. I think service and answering questions could be friendlier. Not everybody knows certain pastries especially European ones. My mom had a hard time recognizing some of the pastries, and her questions were ignored.
Great donuts and other sweet treats! Came here mid-morning on a Saturday and it was really busy. Although it didn’t take long for my number to be called and we then loaded up on donuts. They were all amazing but our favorite were the old fashioned. Can’t wait to come back and try more flavors!
I love this place! In search of a last minute birthday cake for my fiance, I walked in 5 minutes before they closed (yes, I was THAT person). The girl closing up was super friendly, and took the time to write a message on the cake I picked out, and packaged it up nicely. The cake ended up being absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place.
The place was cute, and the food good, but.... Not really German, which was disappointing.
Their poppy seed strudel is SO delicious!!! Taste of my childhood! Best strudels in the city.
The best rye bread I've had in my life.
This business goes back more than 50 years. You can feel like you are stepping back in time when you enter the store. They make a wide variety of pastries, cakes and pies. In the last few years, they added a little sandwich counter which makes delicious sandwiches to order on fresh bread.
This might be my favorite place in Chicago. Family owned and old-timey spot that always delivers on bomb treats. Donuts are amazing, danishes out of this world, and friendly service. They also have bfast and lunch sandos. Very inexpensive too! Dinkel’s is all time - a tremendous neighborhood spot. Just go and enjoy.
The cake is amazing! I brought cake for my birthday and my moms!! The cake was fire!! This is now our go too bakery!! ♥️♥️♥️
Great neighborhood bakery with lots of baked goods to choose from.
I’ve usually had great experiences with pastries at Dinkel’s. However, recently I ordered 4 boxes of paczki this year and two of the boxes of donuts were not cooked fully. The dough was gooey and runny and not edible. There was also way too much filling in them for my liking. Very disappointed. I will not be returning here for paczki again.
Delicious donuts and baked goods.
great place for sweet toothed people. donuts look old school and taste great
A classic delicious favorite! They have a big variety and always do well on special order cakes. Lines on weekends and holidays so take a number. Lots of grab and goes.
Always great baked goods.
Great selection of cookies and breads coffee amazing smells
Shout out to Dinkel's and their sour-cream old fashioned. 10/10, SO MOIST and excellent crunch, just perfection. Apricot kolacky also delish.
The staff was so sweet and the cakes are delicious! Totally worth it.
We recently went to Dinkel's for the first time and it was everything we hoped for and more! They have such a large selection of goodies and everything we got was amazing. The sandwich shop is also amazing!
Chicken Salad 👍🏻 it's great here, check it out.
We just gave a very special teacher a big cookie with dried frosting, and bought three little ones too totaling almost $12. They were too thick. I worked at a bakery for 14 years and Christmas tree cookies that are a half inch thick (and should’ve been a quarter inch thick) that has dry frosting shouldn’t be sold anywhere. And to add on to that, the strand of white iceing that was piped on the cookie literally looked clear. That was the worst iced cookie I’ve ever had. The young girl at the counter seemed like she didn’t have any personality, and to be a good bakery person, you need to act like you are the sugar.(note to sellers: take this advice and don’t leave cookies out to “dry”) Don’t judge a cookie by its looks, but by its taste. We’re so embarrassed. Pull those cookies off!
Historic neighborhood bakery. Breakfast sandwiches and baked goods are worth a stop. Seating available for a few small groups.
This place falls into the category of good but not memorable. If I am in the area, I will stop by but I wouldn't make a special trip for it. Pastries with German roots are excellent here. Croissants, not so much. The donuts are as good as people claim. We only one breakfast sandwich, the baker's sunrise and it was delicious.
Bread is great, the sweets however were a little too sweet and too sugary for me. Staff was also very nice and helpful
In a city with a lot of quality baked goods this is still the place to go for donuts. Sad it wasn't Saturday so I could get the maple bacon donut but the double chocolate hit the spot.
Not the fanciest, has a small-town, neighborhoody feel. Taste-wise, quality wise, very hard to beat. The donuts go fast, get there early. We use this bakery for the kids' parties each year too. Cute designs but everyone always comments on the taste. Staff is always helpful and in good spirits, which is nice and appreciated first thing in the morning.
Excellent German bakery with many, many varieties!
